CLC Americorps Intern Heather Baily is an undergraduate student currently fulfilling requirements to receive degrees in Anthropology, Sociology and International Studies. While with CLC, Heather will mainly be working with the C.O.R.E. initiative focusing on the ESL classes.

After studying abroad with Semester at Sea and traveling independently (for a total of 14 countries in 2008), Heather came to the conclusion that education and literacy were the best methods of empowerment and social change. She strives to gain as much knowledge about and practice implementing these tools before hopefully taking these skills to a real world job. What real world job is that, you ask? Currently, Heather has no idea what career path she will follow, but knows she wants to do non-profit work in developing countries and foresees a life dedicated to helping others succeed.

Outside of classes and CLC, Heather is involved with the Center for Public Deliberation and various volunteer positions, including Hearts and Horses, Camp Wapiyapi, and Respite Care.
