The Center for Community Literacy Staff Bios

Amanda Becker is currently living in Nanjing, China. She teaches English at a local primary school to 2nd grade and 4th grade students. Her goal while living in China is to enjoy the rich culture, immerse herself in the language, and to teach children how to speak English. She graduated from Colorado State University in May 2007 with a degree in English Literature and Spanish. During the '06-'07 school term she worked on the Intergenerational Literacy Book Club and Writing Project sponsored by the Community Literacy Center.

After her return from abroad she hopes to pursue a degree in international law at the University of Denver and a master's degree in international business. She also plans to continue learning Mandarin Chinese in hopes of working with companies interested in China and it's developments. Her main passion in life is to travel and experience other cultures and ways of life.
