Community Literacy & Writing Projects

In bookmaking workshops led by Sasha Steensen, participants are encouraged to take a hands-on approach to literacy by creating their own publications. Participants learn about bookmaking tools and are given the opportunity to stitch their own binding and produce printed images to include in the book. Steensen's press, "Bonfire Press," has completed two chapbooks: Some Kind of Poems by Graham Foust and Everyone in the Room is a Representative of the World at Large by Catherine Wagner. Bonfire has also published two broadsides: The Lost Boy by emeritus CSU Professor Bill Tremblay, and Trying to Believe by Claudia Keelan.

Keep an eye out for copies on display at the Center for Literacy Publishing and in the English Department display case in Eddy or visit Bonfire's website at http://bonfirepress.colostate.edu
