April 14

Join us on Tuesday, April 14, at CORE (Center for Organizing to Reach Empowerement), located at 114 Bristlecone Dr. in Fort Collins, for a Family Literacy night between 5:30 and 7:30. There will be fun literacy-related activities for families, such as puppet shows, reading time, crafts, etc. This event is free of charge. Join us on Thursday, April 16, at 7:30 p.m., Lory Student Center (Rooms 214-216) for a special evening with Prof. Eli Hinkel from U of Washington Speaker for TESL/TEFL Advocacy Week Teaching English as a Second/Foreign Language.

Prof. Hinkel, author of many books on language teaching/culture, will address the topic of "What Second Language Writing Research Tells us, and What It Doesn't." Her talk is particularly relevant to any instructors working with international students, language learners as well as anyone interested in furthering their knowledge of linguistically and culturally diverse issues.

This event is free of charge, and it is organized by the TESL/TEFL Graduate Student Association, and it is sponsored by the CSU Diversity Grant, the Department of English, the CSU Community Literacy Center (CLC), and the Institute for Teaching and Learning (TILT).
