The Center for Community Literacy Staff Bios

Sydney Fox is an undergraduate at Colorado State University studying English Creative Writing and German. She chose Creative Writing because after taking the entry level class she was hooked on helping writers become the best they can. She has no interest in writing herself, but hopes to work with publishing and editing in some aspect. She realized after an internship with a university press, that maybe mainstream publishing wasn't for her. She instead looked towards the community and how she could directly impact people's lives. She is hoping that the CLC will inspire her to work with community publishing in whatever city she ends up in.

Sydney will be working with the SpeakOut! Women's Writing Workshop at the Larimer County Detention Center. She loves the editing process and can't wait to experience workshopping in a new environment. Further, she is looking forward to the personal contact with the writers and learning about their struggles and triumphs. She will also be investigating ways in which the CLC can grow and move into a building of its own while utilizing green publishing practices.
