Writing Workshops provide a safe and encouraging space for participants to express themselves through their writing and through dialogue within the workshop. In addition to refining writing skills, the goal of the workshops will be to enhance self-esteem, foster space for creativity, evaluate past actions, envision life change, and promote community action and social change. The Intergenerational Literacy Book Club and Writing Project The Intergenerational Literacy Book Club and Writing Project brings our community into dialogue and fosters lifelong learning through reading and writing partnerships. The Project provides free books, access to online book discussion groups, writing workshops, and publishing opportunities for people of all ages in Fort Collins and surrounding communities. Partnerships for Literacy Success Partnerships for Literacy Success (PLS) seeks to expand opportunities available to the English Language Learners in the Fort Collins community. PLS is a partnership between two Colorado State University Projects: the Community Literacy Center and Community Organizing to Reach Empowerment (CORE). CORE is a community-based, family-oriented learning center which provides opportunities for individuals to build on their strengths and develop their capacity for addressing perennial urban problems. |
